Ann McKechin MPPauline McNeill MSPGlasgow North MP, Ann McKechin and Kelvin MSP, Pauline McNeill have backed Glasgow University Labour Club in criticising the SNP Government’s plans to ban young people aged 18-21 from purchasing alcohol in any off-sales within Scotland. The plans have been criticised for failing to address the real problems of binge drinking.Ann commented:

“There needs to be a comprehensive plan to deal with binge drinking by all age groups.

“This proposal is nothing more than an easy gimmick that doesn’t deal with the real issues. It’s the SNP looking for headlines rather doing the hard work of developing policies and strategies to deal with important issues.”
